Elders officially opened its new Pakenham branch on Friday 20 February, marking a significant milestone for both the company and the local agricultural community.
Staff and clients watch on as Cardinia Shire Mayor Brett Owen officially opens the branch.
The grand opening brought together farmers, clients, staff, and community members to celebrate the new facility. The event featured refreshments, prize giveaways, and was strongly attended, reflecting the importance of Elders’ presence in the region.
The new branch signals Elders’ long-term commitment to Pakenham and the broader Cardinia Shire.
Elders Pakenham Branch Manager Peter Rollason highlighted the importance of the development, describing it as a major step forward for the business and its clients.
“This new facility is more than a building, it is a sign of confidence in Pakenham, in our region and in the people who live and work here.”
He noted that bringing services together in a modern, purpose-built site will allow Elders to better support local producers and continue growing alongside the region.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Brett Owen officially opened the facility, recognising the significance of the move and Elders’ longstanding contribution to the area.
He described the relocation as a “new chapter” for Elders after 27 years at its previous site.
Mayor Owen also acknowledged the company’s role in supporting local agriculture and strengthening the regional economy, thanking Elders for its continued investment in the community.
The new site includes expanded warehouse capacity, improved retail space, and enhanced operational efficiency to better support Elders’ service delivery and increased product availability.
The event showcased Elders’ strong community ties, with live music from local artist Tegan Blackstock and a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by staff and guests.
The opening was widely seen as more than just a new facility, symbolising resilience, and forward momentum for agriculture in the region, despite challenges such as drought, floods, and shifting market conditions.
