Connecting industry and community at the NTCA Conference

Elders was proud to be part of this year’s Northern Territory Cattlemen’s Association (NTCA) Conference in Darwin, continuing our long-standing support of an event that brings together the people, ideas and innovation shaping Northern Australia’s cattle industry.

The conference provided an important opportunity for the team to connect with Northern Territory producers and industry partners, reinforcing the value of collaboration and shared learning across the sector.

A key highlight of the conference was the Tech Talk panel, where Elders’ Paul McCormick joined industry representatives from MLA and NAPCo to explore the theme of “adoption or adaption”.

Paul’s message focused on mindset, encouraging producers to remain curious and to expect the same from those who support them.

“Stay curious. The world is moving so fast that you need to be confident the people supporting you are keeping up, and if they’re not, you should be demanding more,” Paul said.

The conference also showcased the strength of the industry and the importance of connection across Northern Australia.

“The NTCA Conference is a great opportunity for our team to connect with and support Northern Territory producers and the broader Northern Australian cattle industry,”

- Ryan Robinson, Elders GM Northern Region.

“Events like NTCA highlight the strength of the industry and the importance of working together to support its future.”

We were proud to contribute to the strong community spirit of the event. At the Crocs & Frocks evening, Elders stud stock agent Anthony Ball took on exclusive auctioneer duties, helping raise an impressive $16,665 for the Young Livestock Exporters Network (YLEN) and the Georgia Pastoral Future NTCA Program. He also lent his support during the gala dinner, contributing to fundraising efforts for Dolly’s Dream, the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association, It’s A Bloke Thing, and the Georgia Pastoral Future NTCA Program.

The week also celebrated creativity across the industry, when winners of the 2026 Elders and NTCA Photo Competition were announced at the gala dinner. Each year, the competition offers a unique glimpse into life across the Northern Territory, from dusty yards to cheeky kids enjoying a well-earned smoko.

For Elders, the competition is a meaningful way to connect with and celebrate the communities our branches support. Our team works alongside producers across the Territory every day, making it especially rewarding to see these moments captured by those living and working in the industry.
