Elders is continuing its support of Fat Farmers: Rural Health Initiative, partnering with the organisation to deliver a national ‘Come & Try Week’ from 15 to 21 June.
The initiative will provide Elders staff and clients with the opportunity to experience a free Fat Farmers or Active Farmers session at participating locations across Australia, with approximately 32 groups taking part.
Fat Farmers is a grassroots charity dedicated to improving the physical and mental wellbeing of people living in rural and regional Australia through physical activity, social connection, and community support. Since integrating with Active Farmers, the organisation has expanded its reach nationally, creating more opportunities for rural Australians to prioritise their health and wellbeing.
Throughout the week, participating groups will open their doors to new Elders participants, offering a range of activities including gym-based workouts, walking groups, yoga, pilates, and other inclusive fitness options. Sessions are designed to suit all ages, abilities, and fitness levels.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment between Elders and Fat Farmers to supporting the people behind Australian agriculture. While physical activity is a key focus, the benefits extend far beyond exercise, fostering connection, reducing social isolation, and strengthening community wellbeing.
Elders is encouraging staff and clients to take part, invite others along, and help raise awareness within their local communities.
Together, Elders and Fat Farmers are helping create healthier minds, healthier bodies, and stronger rural communities across Australia.
