The second annual Elders WA Elite Horse Sale is set to be held from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 March 2024.
Elders is pleased to announce the Elders WA Elite Horse Sale weekend will be back, bigger and better, in March 2024.
After the inaugural event was a resounding success, drawing in crowds from across Australia, the event team is busy working away on next year’s event, which will again be held at the Murray Regional Equestrian Centre in Coolup.
Elders Waroona territory sales manager and event coordinator Wade Krawzcyk explained that the annual event was conceived this year due to a gap in horse sales in Western Australia.
“The purpose of the Elite Horse Sale is to bring our clients and community together through a common interest, and generate sale opportunities,” Wade said.
“We didn’t have a similar existing horse sale event in which we could showcase the quality of working horses in WA, so we are delighted to be able to do that.”
Last year’s sale attracted a top range of premium horses from highly reputable equine studs, suited to mustering, camp drafting and stock work. 24 of the 27 horses offered sold at an average of $20,417, and very solid top price of $52,000.
Next year’s event will again have a strong community focus, raising funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Dolly’s Dream. Having raised a total of $15,000 for the two charities last year, Wade is hopeful that the March event will reap a similar result.
“To be able to hand over the cheques to both of those charities was something we are all very proud of, and we hope to build upon that in next year’s event,” Wade said.
The 2024 event will be held over three days, with an extended program of activities available for the whole family to get involved.
“This year we have partnered with the Coolup Campdraft Club, so will be offering a full program of campdraft activities, combining their event with ours,” Wade explained.
“There will be a Working Horse Challenge on the Friday night. Plus, the Polocrosse is being extended to encompass a future goal event, showcasing our top rate juniors, as well as the super goal. Both events will be held under lights.”
