Elders invests in southwest Queensland with the opening of its new branch in Wandoan

Last week, Elders Wandoan hosted over 100 clients at its official opening event.

Lachy Radford, SW Queensland Area Manager, Billy Hall, Wandoan Territory Sales Manager, Ashley Loveday, Livestock Manager, Lisa Hewitt, QLD/NT State General Manager and Shakayla Henry, Wandoan Rural Products Sales Representative.

Elders has celebrated the opening of a brand-new location for its Wandoan branch. The team, along with Elders staff from neighbouring branches, and valued clients, came together to enjoy a barbeque, drinks, and cake on Thursday evening.

In its new location, the branch will be able to expand its offering of rural products, livestock, finance, real estate and agronomy services.

Territory sales manager Billy Hall and rural products sales representative Shakayla Henry will be based in the new location.

Southwest Queensland area manager Lachy Radford said the new branch is in good hands with Billy and Shakayla.

“We have a great young team here in Wandoan,” he said.

Billy has only been based at Wandoan for maybe two months, and he has really sunk his teeth into the region and is putting a strong foot forward. Shakayla has really come into her own and taken ownership of the business, the clients, and the direction of the branch.

“To the local community, it just shows that we are here, we are invested, and we are really committed to the region.”

State general manager QLD/NT Lisa Hewitt said she was delighted to attend the opening event on Thursday.

“We have been in our previous site since around 1991, so it's fantastic that 32 years later we can be reinvesting back into Wandoan and continuing our association with this community,” she said.

“The event was absolutely glorious; it has been great to celebrate such a momentous occasion for Wandoan and the surrounding communities.

“My sincere thanks to the Wandoan team, who have made a huge effort to transition from our old premises to this new state-of-the-art facility, particularly while continuing to serve customers.”

In a nice nod to the branch’s roots, Ashley Loveday was in attendance, and able to help cut the ribbon at the opening event. Ashley attended the original branch opening in 1991 as a then-merchandise representative based at Wandoan. He has since worked his way up to taking on the livestock manager position at Elders Dalby.
