Elders is proud to announce that three of its talented young auctioneers have been named finalists in the 2025 ALPA Queensland Young Auctioneers Competition.

Following an intensive two-day training school at Roma Saleyards hosted by the Australian Livestock & Property Agents Association (ALPA), the top 10 finalists were selected to compete at the prestigious Ekka in Brisbane this August.
Among them are three outstanding representatives from Elders:
- Tom Cameron, Elders Winton
- Jack Dougherty, Elders Dalby
- Beau White, Elders Clermont
The ALPA Young Auctioneers School provides participants with the opportunity to refine their craft, develop their selling technique, and gain valuable feedback from experienced auctioneers and industry leaders. The final competition at the Ekka will see Queensland’s best young talent take the stage in front of a live audience and panel of judges.
Elders Queensland and the Northern Territory State Livestock Manager, Scott Mawn, congratulated the finalists on their achievement.
“Being selected to represent your state is a huge honour and a reflection of the hard work and dedication these young auctioneers have put into their careers,” he said.
“We’re incredibly proud to see three of our own take the next step in their auctioneering journey and represent Elders on this iconic platform."
This recognition not only highlights the individual talent of our auctioneers, but also speaks to the strength of Elders’ livestock network and ongoing investment in developing the next generation of industry leaders.
“It is a huge credit to the Elders livestock team and the mentors we have amongst us in preparing these young men for the main stage,” Scott said.
We wish our finalists the very best of luck as they prepare to compete at the Ekka on Wednesday 6 August. The winner will go on to represent Queensland at the ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition held at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2026.
