Elders Mackay proudly hosted the inaugural ‘All Things Beef’ Expo at the Mackay Showgrounds on Saturday 12 July, drawing a strong crowd of more than 250 producers, industry professionals and rural suppliers from across North Queensland.

Designed to celebrate and support the region’s beef industry, the expo delivered a full day of educational seminar sessions, trade displays and networking opportunities, all tailored to the needs of local beef producers from across the Mackay Valley.
Elders Mackay Branch Manager Geoff Sutton said the event was created to engage with more people from the local beef community, while showcasing the latest innovations and services available to support their businesses.
“The ‘All Things Beef’ Expo was developed by the Elders Mackay team to connect producers with industry experts, suppliers, and each other.”
With over 250 attendees and a number of exhibitors offering a wide range of products and services on display – from animal health and genetics to fencing, nutrition and finance - the event offered something for every stage of the production cycle.
Attendees also had the chance to hear from guest speakers covering topics such as market trends, weaner management, and livestock technology.
“Through the speaker sessions, we aimed to bring valuable information to our clients and support them with up-to-date market and production insights,” Geoff said.
“The absolute standout from the day was the opening session with Simon Quilty from Global Agri Trends who presented on current cattle market trends and outlook.
“Simon was extraordinary. His talk was very well received, and it was great to see such strong engagement from the audience.”
Another highlight was the session from Rob Inglis, Elders Senior Livestock Production Specialists, who presented on weaner management and post calving/pre joining management of breeders.
“We had quite a few people attend the expo specifically for the session with Rob and it was again very well received,” Geoff said.
“We’re really proud of how the day came together. The support from our suppliers, clients and the local community was outstanding.”
The Elders team was on hand throughout the event to speak with clients, answer questions, and provide insights into rural products, agronomy services, livestock sales and financial solutions.
Given the strong turnout and overwhelmingly positive response, planning is already underway for the next edition of the ‘All Things Beef’ Expo.
“We’re excited to build on this momentum and deliver even more value next year. This event has shown there’s a real appetite for connection and knowledge-sharing in our region’s beef industry,” Geoff said.
Elders Mackay extends a sincere thank you to all attendees, exhibitors and sponsors who helped make the day such a success.
