Elders is undertaking a multi-year project known as ‘SysMod,’ to modernise systems with leading technology solutions that will seek to enhance the customer experience, drive efficiencies and support growth.

Elders Chief Information Officer Viv Da Ros said Elders has been working to deliver a modern Elders for customers, Elders people, and the future.
“This program is being undertaken in waves over several years and will ultimately result in the business having state of the art enabling technologies that are fit for purpose and provide the business with a platform to achieve our growth and innovation ambitions into the future,” Viv said.
“Most importantly, it will enhance customer experiences and open new opportunities for us to understand and serve our customers better than ever.”
The first wave in 2023 saw the introduction of Workday for internal human resource management, implementation of initial Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) modules for indirect procurement and fixed assets, deployment of a new data analytics platform, and upgrades to the internal intranet and website.
This year, Elders will launch additional functionalities in D365 to enhance retail sales capabilities, a significant step toward enhancing the customer experience and supporting the business into the future.
Beginning in Murray Bridge, the rollout will expand gradually to branches nationwide, introducing new retail and supply chain systems to enhance client services in-branch.
During this transition, customers may notice minor adjustments as Elders teams adapt and learn to use the new systems.
This update also includes changes to tax invoices. In-store purchases will now come with a smaller, streamlined receipt, like those at supermarkets. If needed, A4-sized invoices will be available upon request and can be sent to a customer’s email.
The Elders team remains committed to providing clients with the same high standard of service they are accustomed to throughout these updates.
The final waves of the SysMod project will see the replacement of livestock and trading settlements, remaining financial systems and customer relationship management systems, plus the decommissioning of the 35-year-old legacy AS400 platform.
Additional improvements for clients, such as new livestock invoices and client statements, will also be introduced nationwide in the coming years.
