Five minutes with Tyson Lydeamore

Tyson Lydeamore is the Rural Products Sales Manager at Elders Streaky Bay, assisting clients on the west coast of South Australia with their animal health needs.

With agriculture in his DNA, having spent time on his grandparents’ farm as a young person, and his mum working as a wool handler for many years, for Tyson joining Elders was an easy decision.

He first started in September 2019, working at Naracoorte in South Australia’s south east before moving to the branch in Streaky Bay. Tyson said although it was a big move from Naracoorte to Streaky Bay, he feels like he fit in right away.

“It’s obviously a beautiful area, the west coast, but for me, it has been all about the people since we arrived,” he said.

“The people and the community here have welcomed my partner and I with open arms, and I’ve been really fortunate that my clients and work mates have been all too happy to take me around their properties, so I could get to know the area and the types of farming better.”

Tyson’s background in customer service serves him well in his role at Streaky Bay, which he says is all about meeting the needs of the client.

“Of most importance is really being at the beck and call of the client,” he said.

“If they have any questions regarding a drench program, or anything in regard to the animal health side of their business, I am there to give them the information, or to find the information for them, and ultimately benefit that side of their business.

“I pride myself on the knowledge of our systems, and I would like to think that if I don’t know the answer to something, I can find the pathways and the avenues to find the answer.”

Tyson said one of the best parts of working for Elders is the opportunity to continue to grow and learn every day.

“There are plenty of chances to grow at Elders, I am very lucky that others working in a similar specialty have been incredibly willing to share their knowledge and experiences,” he said.

“I definitely see myself growing my knowledge of animal health and livestock production; it’s an area I am really enjoying learning.”
