Elders Mackay celebrates new and improved branch location

Nearly 100 people gathered at the Mackay branch opening on Friday night, where Elders Central Queensland Area Manager Richard Bright officially cut the ribbon on the new branch.

The new location will mean that the Mackay team, who are already a leading supplier of rural products in the region, will be able to carry a broader range of products, due to an increase in warehousing capacity.

Central Queensland Area Manager Richard Bright said the investment is a mark of confidence in Mackay, and is indicative of Elders’ commitment to rural communities across Queensland.

“We are really excited to be here today celebrating the opening of the new Elders Mackay branch,” Richard said.

“The new branch and its location will give Elders a far greater opportunity to showcase all of our activities that we offer. It symbolises new beginnings and our ability to be able to offer and service our clients with the Elders full suite of offerings.”

The Mackay team proudly offers a wide range of agricultural services to the community. The team is made up of branch manager Geoffrey Sutton, livestock agent Eileen Falzon, merchandise staff Greg Bowden, Damien Lowrey and Tam-Maree Summerfield, sales support officer Sharon Vella and Rob Murolo in real estate.

Branch Manager Geoffrey Sutton said the team is delighted to be in the new, more accessible location, which will be of great benefit to local farmers.

“In this new location we are far more central. Mackay being a diverse area and servicing a large geographical area we are now much better placed to being able to service more people. The move has also been excellent for our brand awareness in the region and is far more functional to access the new location,” Geoffrey said.

“We have more room in the warehouse, so it has allowed us to increase our product range. It has also allowed us to carry a larger volume of stock to support our growing client base’s needs.”

“We offer a full range of animal health and nutrition products as well as a full range of fencing and water equipment. We carry the farm chemicals and fertiliser that are suitable for our region. That plus some additional agency products that are exclusive to Elders.”

“We have a team of two managing our livestock agency business, myself, and Eileen. We have three people in merchandise being Greg, Damo and Tam and we are currently interviewing for a fourth merchandise salesperson as our business grows. We have Sharon as our SSO and Rob covering real estate. We also offer all of the Elders finance products through Linda being based in the north.

“We are very thankful to our historical client base for their continued support and patronage of our business, and we are really excited about servicing new clients in the area.”

The new site is located at 77-79 Archibald Street, Mackay.
