Five minutes with Matt Horne

A Deniliquin local with strong ties to the local community, Matt Horne brings a wealth of local knowledge to his role as a Rural Real Estate Manager and Water Broker.

Based in our Deniliquin branch, Matt started with Elders in 2011, and has since gone from strength to strength, building on both pre-existing and new relationships, and achieving outstanding results for his clients.

Matt explained that his favourite parts of the job revolve around working alongside clients to achieve their goals.

“The most rewarding part of my role is certainly the relationships I am able to build with both vendors and buyers,” he said.

“My priority is being able to provide quality, trusted service to my clients.”

Most recently, Matt was named as Elders’ number one rural real estate agent for 2023, an honour which he said would not have been possible without his network of clients, colleagues and family.

“I am humbled to have received national recognition within Elders,” Matt said.

“But this would not have been possible without the support of our clients, work colleagues, family and friends. I look forward to providing a quality service to our clients into the future.”

Elders State Real Estate Manager in Victoria Nick Myer commented that Matt is a very worthy recipient of the award.

“Matt’s unwavering dedication and commitment to his clients, coupled with his professionalism and industry knowledge makes him truly deserving of this achievement and he is to be congratulated,” he said.

When Matt isn’t working, he and his family are busy serving their beloved Deniliquin community.

“We are involved with the Deniliquin Rovers Football and Netball Clubs; my wife coaches the Under 13s netball side, and I’m a playing coach of the Reserves football team,” he said.

“We are also members of the Deniliquin Giants Basketball Club, plus the Triathlon, Lawn Tennis, Boating and Jockey Clubs, in addition to community groups such as the Finley PCP and community farm.”

Matt explained that Deniliquin locals are proud of their region, and very active within the community.

“Recently we experienced a significant flood event, and the comradery and spirit across the whole community was evident as we sandbagged homes, retail stores and other buildings,” he said.

“My family and I are fortunate to live and work in Deniliquin,” he said.
