Agronomist (Broadacre)

Adam Hancock

Adam commenced with Elders in 2011 and is an Agronomist specialising in broadacre cropping and pasture. He supports growers in Naracoorte and across the south-east region of South Australia.

After growing up on the family farm, Adam spent his early career working on a cropping enterprise in New Zealand, participating in the world-renowned Monitor Farm Program before commencing university studies.

Adam helps grain growers to improve productivity and profitability through evidence-based agronomy and precision agriculture. He provides agronomic advice across a wide range of farming systems and environments, supporting clients with both in-season decision-making and long-term planning.

Adam has played a key role in various industry-funded projects, from investigating nutrient efficiency to agtech adoption. During his time with the GRDC Regional Cropping Solutions Network, Adam collaborated with growers and researchers to prioritise local constraints and opportunities, keeping investments focused on on-farm need. He continues to collaborate closely with growers, grower groups and research partners to shape research directions.

An active member of the MacKillop Farm Management Group, the Limestone Coast Grassland Society, and the Southern Australia Durum Growers Association, Adam also supports the development of early-career agronomists through the Elders Graduate Agronomy Program.
