Marty Kay

Marty commenced with Elders in 2017 and is the Branch Manager at Elders Kingscote. He is also the dedicated Wool Agent/District Wool Manager for Kangaroo Island.

With a foundation laid at the School of Wool and Textiles in Marleston in 1989, Marty has excelled in the wool industry. Progressing from obtaining a professional wool classer's certificate to reaching P2 status, Marty delved into a wool buying cadetship with G.H Michell & Sons. His journey led him to the direct buying division, where he purchased wool across various regions, including Kangaroo Island, Yorke Peninsula, West Coast, and the Fleurieu Peninsula. Marty's expertise extends to conducting tours, hosting clients and growers at wool mills, and possessing extensive knowledge in greasy wool processing.

Marty enjoys assisting clients in enhancing clip preparation and sales methods to optimise their returns. Providing valuable feedback from buyers, nurturing relationships with growers and buyers, and leveraging his broad experience in the wool trade set Marty apart. His passion for wool's future drives him to establish strong relationships that ultimately benefit their clients.
