Duncan Ferguson

Duncan commenced with Elders in 2020 and is a Wool Agent/ District Wool Manager specialising in Merino production. He is based at Elders Longreach but supports wool producers in the surrounding regions including Barcaldine, Blackall, Aramac and Winton. 

Duncan has 45 years of stud sheep and wool experience, including classing sheep, ram selection and animal husbandry. He was a Councillor for the Queensland Merino Stud Sheepbreeders Association for over 30 years, including four years as President. He also spent four years as a Councillor for the Australian Stud Sheep Breeders Association.

Duncan has lived in western Queensland for over 45 years. In his spare time Duncan is an active member of his local community. He has been on the committee of the Barcaldine Show Society for over 30 years, including four years as President. He has also been on the committee of the Barcaldine Westech Field Days for over 30 years and over 40 years of involvement as a member and on the committee of the Barcaldine Clay Target Club Inc. This included five years as President, so not surprisingly Duncan has been awarded a life membership.
