Outstanding result at Boyanup beef sale

The 12th annual Elders Boyanup Beef Female Sale was held last week, with a high-quality yarding and great results.

Elders livestock agent Pearce Watling, who auctioneered the sale, said it was a pleasing result for vendors.

“This was an extremely positive sale, given the current cattle market, which saw buyers pay to a top of $3,200 for synchro artificially inseminated mated heifers,” Pearce said.

“The sale saw strong interest from new and repeat buyers, who bid strongly and were happy to pay for the quality on offer throughout the large yarding.

“We would like to congratulate the vendors on the outstanding quality of females offered in the Elders 2024 Beef Female sale, and would also like to thank all purchasers and under bidders.”

Southwest livestock manager Michael Carroll coordinates the sale each year, and agreed that  the cattle presented were of fantastic quality.

“It was pleasing to see such support from the buyers keen to secure well-presented PTIC females on offer,” Michael said.

“Considering the season and current market conditions that we are experiencing in the southwest, the results of a high clearance achieved really showed the high standard of PTIC heifers that were offered in the ring, and the investment buyers are willing to make for breeders.”
