Beef Australia 2024 is the biggest event on the Australian Beef Industry calendar, held in Rockhampton from 5 to 11 May 2024.
Throughout the event, Elders will be hosting a series of activities, from elite Wagyu sales, to seminars and more.

Commercial Cattle Championship

When: 5 and 6 May 2024
Where: CQLX Rockhampton.

Australian commercial producers can compete to have their cattle awarded the best in the country, while showcasing their herd to a national and international audience. The Elders livestock team are once again approved agents and will work with you to get your cattle in prime condition for the event.

Seminar: High performance cultures and the impact for regional communities

When: Tuesday 7 May 2024, time: 12:00 to 1:30 pm
Where: James Lawrence Pavilion

Facilitated by Mark Allison, Elders Managing Director and CEO, this engaging and heavy-hitting industry panel will discuss the elements and attributes needed to foster high performing cultures within our businesses and communities in our regions. Mark will be joined by Jeff Reibel, CEO of The North Queensland Cowboys; Julia Spicer OAM, Engage & Create Consulting and QLD’s Chief Entrepreneur in 2022, and William Bulo, General Manager of PT Juang Jaya Abdi Alam (PT JJAA), Consolidate Pastoral Company’s Indonesian operations. The panel will explore the who, the what and the how, that high performing and thriving cultures can have in positively influencing and impacting the regions in which we work, live and grow. Celebrate with Us - Elders celebrates 185 years

When: Tuesday 7 May 2024, time: 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Where: Elders Pavilion, Rockhampton Showgrounds

The Elders Pavilion will come alive as we celebrate 185 years of Elders. Hear from the esteemed Elders Managing Director and CEO, Mark Allison. Elders Livestock Production Advisor, Todd Donaldson will treat the audience to a special bush poetry performance, evoking the spirit of the land and the rich history of Elders going back to 1839.  There will be drinks, cake and lots of fun giveaways, so drop by and celebrate with us.  Free event. 


Elders Signature Wagyu Cattle Auction

When: Tuesday 7 May 2024, time: 5:30pm to 7pm
Where: James Lawrence Pavilion, Rockhampton Showgrounds.

The inagural Elders Signature Wagyu Cattle Auction will be your opportunity to invest in elite Wagyu bloodlines from across Queensland.

‘For the Future of Queensland’  - Elders x RFDS Breakfast

When: Wednesday 8 May 2024, time: 7:00am to 9:30am
Where: Headricks Lane, 189 East Street, Rockhampton

Join us for the official launch of a 3-year partnership between Elders and RFDS (Queensland section), dedicated to serving regional Queenslanders. Led by Landline host Pip Courtney, Hewitt directors Mick (CEO & Managing Director) and Ben Hewitt (Chief Executive Agribusiness & Executive Director) will share their inspiring story. The event concludes with breakfast canapes and networking. Cost: $50 + bkg fee per ticket, with 50% proceeds going to RFDS.

Panel discussion: Ensuring carbon farming has an agricultural approach

When: Thursday 9 May 2024, time: 11:15am to 11:45am
Where: Tech Talks stage.

Facilitated by Head of Thomas Elder Sustainability, Dave McKeon, this panel session will explore how taking an agricultural-focused approach to carbon farming will improve alignment between achieving mutual agricultural and carbon farming outcomes. Dave will be joined by Naomi Wilson, Head of Environment and Sustainability at Australian Agricultural Company in Darwin NT, James Henderson, Owner of H3K Cattle Co & Isidore Agri & Eco Solutions in Biloela QLD and Dr Thakur Bhattarai, National Carbon Farming Technical Manager at Elders in Rockhampton QLD.
